A senior Palestine-Australia advocate has called for nations across the world to start “boycotting the state of Israel” over an apparent “apartheid regime”.
Australia Palestine Advocacy Network Vice President Nasser Mashni told Sky News it’s time for Australia and other nation to implement boycotts of Israel in the same vein as those against South Africa in the 1980s.
Mr Mashni pointed to the Jewish Israeli human rights NGO B’Tselem which declared an “apartheid” in the state of Israel against the Palestinian people.
“There’s an apartheid regime within Israel and the way it treats Palestinians,” Mr Mashni said.
“Boycotts worked in South Africa, it’s time for us to start boycotting the state of Israel.
“We need to sanction it (Israel), and hold it to account.”
