Finnish police say they have data pointing to the Hong Kong-flagged cargo vessel NewNew Polar Bear as the culprit in damaging the pipeline running under the Baltic Sea.
The Hong Kong-registered vessel NewNew Polar Bear was in the vicinity of two different Baltic Sea pipelines when they were damaged earlier in October, and has now become the focus of the police investigation.
The latest incident might have happened at the same time as a cable linking Finland to Estonia was also damaged, an incident being investigated as sabotage.
